Coming to school to order” now a “favorite career”

VietNamNet Bridge – As for many students, learning not simply to obtain more knowledge that is necessary for their future jobs and lives, but this is really an extra job which can bring them a lot of money.

From “coming to school for others” to “coming to school for money”

Khanh, a student of the information technology faculty of a junior college, said he began working last year; he was a first year student.

The job that Khanh mentioned was attending lessons for another student, for which he gets a pay. On weekend, Khanh stays at his rent room, chatting with friends, playing games and watching film through the night.

However, Khanh is busy on the others days of week. A neighbor of his, who lives in a rent room next to him, is an in-service journalism student. Therefore, he usually asks Khanh to come to class for him, because he needs to spend time going to work. Of course, while helping the journalism student, Khanh can earn 50,000 dong for every lesson.

The journalism student needs someone who is present at roll call, because if he is absent from to many lessons, he would not be able to attend semester-end exams.

Khanh’s business has been prospering well. Sometimes Khanh goes to class for the neighbor, sometimes for the friends of the neighbors. Especially, Khanh has set up a team of members who are ready to “go to school to order,” since the number of students who have demand has been increasing.

However, since Khanh is also a student, he also has to go to class himself. Therefore, Khanh has to arrange his time to be present at both classes on the same days. He said that he has been hard with the job, but he feels happy, because he can earn money.

According to Khanh, the job is not too hard, and not too choosy. One just needs to look serious to be able to work as a student. The only thing they have to do is to be present at roll call and make teachers believe that they are the real members of the classes.

However, this sometimes is a difficult job. Khanh said that he once had to leave the class and could not earn 50,000 dong, because he met the same lecturer at two classes, and he feared that his fraud could be discovered.

Thuyet, one of the clients, who hires other students to go to class for him, said that he pays 80,000 dong for the service, which includes the travel fee and meals.

Especially, Thuyet said, it is easy to find service providers nowadays, since both the demand the supply are high. Service providers need money to fund their studies and cover basic needs, while those people like him, need someone to help them learn when they are busy with other works.

Not only in-service students, but students of popular training also hire others to go to class for them. Yen, a student of the Hai Duong Medical Technique University, said that sometimes she wants to stay off lessons to go somewhere to relax. Therefore, she asks a girl living in the same room at the dormitory to go to class for her. And when the girl needs, she would go to class for the girl.

“By doing this, we will have enough time for both studying and playing, “ Yen said.

When asked if the trick can be discovered by lecturers, Yen said that there are too many students on the lecture halls, therefore, no one would discover the frauds, especially when lecturers cannot remember all students.
