young women are earning easy money as models. Especially long-legged
girls have ample opportunities for modelling work as studios and
photographers seek lithe models.
Nguyen Hong Phuong Anh, a student from the Ho Chi Minh City University of Social Sciences and Humanities, said, “I often do promotional work for garment and fashion firms. For just a few hours, I can earn nearly USD100. This job is very simple and doesn’t require me to spend anything. Meanwhile, it’s quite flexible, therefore, students can do it as a part time job, but, the most important thing is you will have very beautiful legs.”
Unexpected temptations
Ms. Nguyen Bui Thao Minh who specialise in recruiting long-legged girls, said the Vietnamese advertising market had a shortage of long-legged models. She has to focus on recruitment. A model that mainly shows her legs fortunately doesn’t have to learn many performance skills. However, they can learn more to become a professional model suitable for catwalk work later, she added.
The job offers high incomes but also poses a few risks.
A student from HCM City Finance and Marketing University revealed that she’d been encouraged to become a long-legged model; she said "Some friends of mine urged me to do some work for some fashion firms. I have nice legs so I decided to try the job.”
In the first week of the work, she was very interested in the job because she could earn millions of VND per show. She even considered the long-term potential of the work. However, she was put off by her experience in the second week. She was moved to a fashion shop which specialised in selling skirts. The owner always asked her to wear skirts that overly exposed her legs and was asked to adopt provocative postures.
After being teased by the shop owner, she decided to give up the job, she shared.
